Some people have no sense of humor.
She had eye surgery today on one eye for cataract removal. While my wife was talking to her on the phone about taking her medication and not messing with the dressing covering the eye, I piped up and said I'm going to buy her a parrot. Damn, her sense of hearing is strong! My Mother-in-law said something not particularly nice about me in her native tongue. My wife couldn't or, maybe wouldn't, translate satisfactorily but I got the gist of it.
Looks like I'm in the doghouse for a while. I better bring her some nice smelling flowers next time I visit, which is this Saturday.
