As I told Beygon, I, of course, have no control over what anything "seems" to you (nor do I care to). I stated how I happened to become an acquaintance of hers, never implying shame or pride. I don't feel either emotion; I was broadly describing the spectrum of my particular experience from my time during the Viet Nam War (just out of curiousity, have you served your country,....in any way?) through grad school (it was germain to the post I was responding to).
