Upon further reading, the gun buy-back is to take place in four locations from 10:00-2:00 on Sat. One is at a Phoenix PD station and the other three are at churches, but I can't find the names or locations of the churches. Seems these places aren't exactly the same as public sidewalks. I don't really want any long guns, but probably won't see anyone carrying a handgun openly for me to know to approach them. Unless this event just has a huge turnout, I don't know that I'll be able to spot lines of people waiting in the scorching heat to hand in their guns. Still, I think I'll try to map this out and swing by on my motorcycle so I can jump off quickly in case I spot someone who looks like they want to sell.
