Most gun buy back programs offer anonymity, meaning turned-in guns don't even get checked for balistics or being stolen.

I live pretty far from this event and I highly doubt the folks who are handing in guns will take the trouble to call. Besides, I still only have VA and DC area codes on my cell phones. If a $100 gift card motivates them to get rid of a gun, I doubt they'll take the time to call me and then wait until I can get down to see them and, if the gun is junk, then walk on down to the buy-back.
