When I was 11 I loved all 911s. That was fourteen years ago. At 22, I bought my first Porsche: a '76 911S, and two years later, when I began to research the '73 RS and RSR, I sold my 911S to my good friend, Adam Chaplin so I could buy a Euro-spec '74 Carrera 2.7.

You all know the story now: the Euro-spec Carreras from '74 (and '75) are mechanically identical to the RS Touring, but because they have impact bumpers, and because they made more of them, they're half of the price of an original RS Touring. I'm never going to buy another Porsche.

Well, that's not entirely true! If I wind up with enough cash before internal combustion engines are banned, I'd like to build an RSR replica.

If my car is stolen, or if I slam into an armco and total it (let's be realistic!), then I will replace it, if I can, with another Carrera 2.7. The point is, I'm now a helpless devotee of these MFI-injected 911s.
