I'm 19 and just inherited my uncle's 1971 911T. That's right I did not buy it. My aunt decided to give it to me because that was my favorite car ever since I was a little kid (I still may be a little kid to some of you.) I love the early cars. I really like the simplicity of them, without all the extra fat that smog laws, and creature comforts added to the later models. Since I live in CA I also love the fact that pre '74 cars are smog exempt. Which means I can build my car how it should be built. So in answer to your question yes the younger generation can appreciate the earlier cars.
