I used to go there (White Sands on Sanibel) every year before Charly hit. We stayed at Cane Palm over on Estero a few weeks back, the first time I have been back there after all the rebuilding. It was amazing to see that Sanibel and Captiva are now joined by a land bridge, where the pass used to be! There were a couple of days while we were there that the storms just kept rolling in one after another. Actually, just after I took the picture of the lighthouse, I saw one of the coolest things ever. We were just standing there, looking at a rain shaft over the water when a bolt of lightning struck open water about 200 yards off the beach, I have never seen a steam plume shoot up like that before! Truely amazing. Of course that's when we decided to head inland!

The 2 houses in the pic were wiped out in Charlie. Lighthouse is still there.
