Last year he was all for banning hand guns in Chicago. Now it's different.

I guess you have the constitutional right to own a handgun, but a state (or district) has the power to take it away.

He thinks taking away handguns from law abiding citizens will eliminate crime. Nope. What he isn't saying (and should be) is that taking away guns from gangstas will reduce crime, as long as you lock up or eliminate the gangstas.
Guns ain't the problem here folks, it's punks who like to kill people, gangstas who thing it makes them tough or cool when they kill people, and lowlife punks who don't know or respect the difference between right and wrong and their parents who failed in their respnsibilities. It isn't about the weapon, it's about the culture.
Make guns illegal and the bad guys will still get them. Make handguns illegal and the criminals will still use them to kill people and rob liquor stores.
Make the punks and gangstas illegal, make their parents accountable, go after the "culture" that breeds this type of individual and eliminate the "culture", and you will solve the problem.

Mandatory death penalty for every gang member who commits murder. A real death penalty, swift and harsh, not like the liberal version of the death penalty that takes 25 years. Permanent deportation for every person convicted of a felony who was not born in this country to parents with legal status at the time of birth and life sentence without parole at hard labor if they come back (and charge the cost to their home country), and punishment for the parents of gang members. No government subsistence of any kind for any parents of a known gang member.

Maybe then the parents will teach their kids the difference between right and wrong and keep track of their kids instead of letting them roam the streets all night.
no communication with the outside world allowed for anyone in prison, no exceptions.
I could go on but you get the picture.

Address the cause of the crime problem and it will be reduced. Pretend the real issue doesn't exist because you are afraid of offending or not being PC and the problem will continue to increase. Make incarceration "unpleasant". Make it downright miserable. Maybe they will stop thinking of jail or prison as a revolving door or just a temporary thing.
Stop treating them like victims. They are not. We are the victims, the law abiding citizens who respect and follow the laws. Make it really costly to be a punk, a gangsta, a habitual criminal, or the parent of a habitual criminal. To heck with kissing their butts and worrying about offending someone. Do the right thing for the right reason for a change.
