Speaking of Raiders: Lyle Alzado died at 42 and blamed his brain cancer on roids and HGH. John Matuzak dies at 39..similarly his death has been linked to steroids.
World class athletes don't die that young unless there is a reason. In my mind the reason is roids...and coke...but mostly roids.
As far as the Steeler's legacy...like you said the whole NFL probably juiced, so the playing field was level. Besides, brute strength only get's you so far, even in a game like football. At the end of the day you need smarts and skill. The Steeler's were well coached, well led and very skilled too.
