I also concur with the PPI recommendation. I would go one further and say that, WHATEVER YOU DO, make sure that you buy a car that is either already covered under an extended warranty, or buy an extended warranty with your car. I have experienced both a motor replacement (2001 Boxster S) and a transmission replacement (2002 996 C2), both of which were covered under warranty, and both of which would have cost me over $10K if I had come out of pocket.

I say this not to alarm you, but to protect you. These cars are great cars, but when big stuff breaks, it can cost mucho $.

I believe in these cars, and I LOVE my current 2002 C4S, but part of my love for it is that it is under warranty through 2011.
