Due to the topography of this valley, air(or smoke filled air) can get trapped, or tend to collect here, contributes to the tule fog also.
On the plus side, if everything is not on fire, you get a cooling delta breeze every night, which means if you have a whole house fan, your A/C may not come on for weeks at a time.
In this instance, my trip to Monterrey and Big Sur got canceled

C'est la vie, had half dozen people in the two hospitals anyway
