Oh gathering place of the knowledgeable, I come looking for a freakin' clue.
I have a '74 2.0 liter that is virtually stock, except for electronic ignition. The problem that I'm having is that she starts up right away when the engine is at ambient; then the engine runs at ~2,000 rpm. After about 8 or 9 minutes, the engine rpms drop WAY down, to the point that she bucks; then dies. After being warmed up for the 8-10 minutes, it takes a few cranks to get the engine restarted. Then it runs rough (low rpms) and dies.
My assumption is that there is some heat-actuated component that is creating the issue (Duh), but I'm not quite sure where to begin the search. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Howard
