As I was walking toward my desk I saw this thing dive under my file cabinet. Thought it was "just" a scorpion. A few seconds later it jumped out. Yikes! I think I'd prefer a scorpion. Turns out it's a solpugid or wind scorpion. Apparently they can get up to 5" long in the middle east!
I lifted the photo from the web as I didn't want to take the lid off the jar and risk this thing getting loose in my house again. It's about as big as my thumb, but its attitude is much larger!
