His side of the story was crystel clear. He stood at the weigh station with a microphone in his hand. His image, and voice, and 'story,' was on my television screen. Later, in direct conversation, his story did not change. On television he was expressing outrage that DOT was holding up this bridge section, which was expensive and necessary to the completion of the new Tacoma Narrows bridge. Rolling his eyes, he pretended to believe that DOT was responsible for load limit regulations. He has been at this (hate mongering) gig for a long time and KNOWS were regulations come from. He was picking on an innocent party, and he KNEW it. But gubmit-hate is low-hanging fruit for editorialists and opportunists. Apparently irresistable, as long as you don't care how badly you misrepresent facts and confuse citizens and voters for professional gain.
