I just had to share this. I live in a small town environment, much like Mayberry. Here's the full list of activities for the holiday as listed in our local newspaper:
1. Lions Club's annual pancake breakfast, in the park;
2. Adult Health Center's benefit BBQ, with a band;
3. The old fashioned 4th of July parade down Main Street;
4. American Legion's annual Town Picnic with 2 bands;
5. Fireworks show over the harbor;
and, last but not least,
6. A social group of lesbians and bisexual women will have their 4th of July potluck at a private home.
