Did your bill of sale indicate that the car was sold "as is"?

If you haven't already, make sure you have copies of the original ebay ad AS LISTED. Preferably showing the buyer's bid.

The guy is being a prick, but to protect against such people, I have always been VERY specific in my dealings with people and make them sign a bill of sale clearly indicating the terms of the sale and agreeing to them. I've never had anyone say "no", but if they did, I'd tell 'em to take a walk. Just a minor lesson for the future.

FWIW, I'm not a lawyer but it certainly sounds like this clown doesn't have a leg to stand on.
