ok, here's the deal:
because the car was in storage, our 944 had the timing belts done about 7 years/ 10,000 miles ago. they LOOK fine, and they are all at proper tension. some people get really paranoid about them though (i don't) but i think i should do them before i hit the race track. i already have the belts right here (bought them but didn't get a chance to put them in because of wedding last year).
i have a friend with the factory 944 belt tensioner guage, and i have the kricket took. i don't have any special tools though, just regular stuff.
my time is becoming increasingly spare as i am getting the 924 back up to speed. money is getting stretched thin also (can't go overbudget). the wife and I are also getting a new AK-47 next week, so the 944 has to lay low on the repairs until that comes in (i have too many damn hobbies

).
what i need to know is: what do they usually charge to do timing belts ONLY on an early 944. like how much labor is it? also, being that i have a friend with the tensioner guage, can i just do this myself? should i do this myself if i've never done it before? what are the best instructions to follow?
thanks!
