I think you were wrong to leave negative feedback without giving the seller a chance to correct a problem. I'm not a frequent seller, so I'm not defending that side, but what you did is exactly what I think is wrong with the system now.
I recently ordered some pads for my orbital buffer and after about 10 days, contacted the seller to inquire if the order had shipped. He apologized for the mixup and practically doubled my order at no additional cost to compensate for lateness. This was still before the new rules.
Buyer abuse instead of seller retaliation isn't much of an improvement.
