Spandex is a safety device....see if you can follow along. If you look at something you'll hit it. If you see a guy in spandex, you'll look away...presumably towards the road.

I wear that stuff it's not *that* comfortable. But, ever ride a bike in boxers and cargo pants? Can you say Chafing? I will not post a photo.

FWIW, I don't understand why fat straight desk jockeys seem to have such a problem with how people dress. Whenever I see a guy out riding, I wish I wasn't cruising with the a/c on to eat dinner and veg in front of the PC after a long day. I wish I had time energy to ride after work.
