I don't think Iran is what's causing $4 a gallon gas right now. The Straits of Hormuz have been open all along, demand is increasing and supply is not. Yes, I think Iran needs to be hammered and better sooner than later. And that will hurt oil prices a lot. But I don't think Iran has been responsible for current price spikes.
BTW, how the hell can they close the Straits of Hormuz? Sure, they can harass us, but I don't see how they're much of a match for a carrier battle group. It'd be a suicide mission for them.
