Go for the factory 6, Bob.

A nice, FI 2.0 4 is a great car, of course.

But the 6 is even better. A factory 6 is not any more difficult than the 4, really. Its the same car, with an equally bulletproof engine.

Carbs are carbs, but properly set up, they are no biggie. They work well and aren't really fussy.

As you are finding, its hard to find good, stock 73/74 2.0s. A decent, stock or near stock 6 may actually be easier to find.

It will cost a little more when you buy in, but its money in the bank. You'll get it back when you sell.

I am a big fan of the 73/74 2.0, but I would not hesitate to buy the right factory 914-6 if it came along. Not at all.
