Hey 83SC,
Why did you buy your P-Car? My SC has 180,000 miles on the clock and I take it to redline everytime I drive it. It doesn't smoke or burn oil (it does have the built in oil leak) No problems and if I had to keep it below 3500 rpm's to keep it dependable, I would sell it. These engines are hand built and designed to be raced. Out of the thousands of guys who read this BBS only a handful have premature engine problem. Drive it hard and enjoy it!
