I don't think I've truly driven my car hard until I feel the rev limiter kick in at least once. Well, not exactly, but like Clark said - it is good to know that it works - so I test it out sometimes. I used to carpool with a buddy of mine who drove a non-p-car. He was a low-revver. Never got that thing about 2 or 3k. Drove me absolutely nuts. I don't like ever getting below 3000 rpms. I've never felt an engine that runs so smooth at high rpms as the 911. Both my old 78 and my 91 always feel like they are just getting started at about 4500 or 5000 rpms. Even redline feels like a premature place to stop.
