Cool

A driving instructor suggested to me that the optimal shifting points ( 2nd, 3rd and 4th) are 4500-5500. As a rule , First gear is a starter gear in these cars and not meant for a redline run to second. ( the 915 tranny anyway). The car should be thoroughly warmed , and until than, kept under 3500 , for longevity. But once you hit that first hashmark on the oil temp (180)let it rip . I don't know that you need bang up against the rev limiter, but for Gawds sake man ---air it out. I love just driving along, within the local limit, and hearing the sound of second gear maintained at high revs, especially with the roof off. The only downside is I think some of my neighbores think I'm going really fast because of the racket. My wife swears she and my daughter can hear me from a block away with the windows shut. My kid is always waing at the door so maybe that is true. Use it or you should lose it!
