I had planned on using a solid background, I was just using yours because it emulated the gold foil look of the original decal. I will probably just use the graphics and text and print on to gold foil, stick that to the magnet.

Forget about it OK. No problems here.
That is exactly what I did. I only used the fill to see what it would look like on gold foil. When I print I just remove the fill layer. Comments came back from one Pelican on a stickers I sent for evaluation was that the original foil color was a little greener and mine was more bronze. Not sure if this could be due to age or it was in fact a different color foil. The fix would be to change the gold fill layer and add a tint of green and print with that in place.
The other thing to remember is you will need and overlaminate or clear coat on top of the foil to make it completely chemical proof. I have tried both and either work well.
