I have never asked for any thread to be shut down. It's not my style. After it was pointed out that some folks were doing quite a bit of reporting of my posts, and Nostatic repeatedly stating that reporting posts is the proper response, I did report 2 posts that were attacks. I have said it before & I'll say it again. I appreciate the playground that Wayne gives us here. It should be obvious that I have fun on PPOT. It seems as though issues arise when a stance is taken that "my position is unquestionable." If you take issue with global warming, you are a knuckle dragging mouth breather because all 6 billion earthlings know it's real, except you. If you take issue with Obama's policies, lack of experience, questionable judgment or anything else, you are an ignorant, racist, neocon.

Folks, the truth is that very little is black or white. Most everything is some shade of grey. To try & prove otherwise will be a rocky road.

Have I criticized some on this board harshly? Absolutely. Have I taken some harsh criticism? Absolutely. The difference is that I never thought it was the moderators' job to save me. As I said earlier, it's not my style. I read about people being proud of using the ignore feature. There are some members whose posts I have no interests in reading. I never felt I needed cyber assistance to accomplish that. I have read that Tennesseans are inbred, ignorant red necks, that New Orleanians are all welfare collecting looters and anybody that disagrees with Algore or Obama wants to flood the planet with melting ice then nuke the whole place. I still manage to sleep fine.

If we can show some maturity here it should make life better for everyone. Don't like something? That's not anybody else's problem. Want to have the software help you ignore it? Great. Want to ignore it on your own? Great. Want to take issue & debate the issue? Great Want to attack the poster 'cause your view of the issue is unassailable and the only legitimate one? Here's where the problem begins. Want to report it to the teacher & try to get them in trouble? It makes you look like a child.

The election, global warming, oil & the economy are hot issues right now. There is no need for anybody to get hurt feelings is there? If somebody burns your house down, that's different. If they think global warming is a fallacy or gospel truth, does it really matter to you. Come on folks, it's the internet. And PPOT is Wayne's half acre of the internet. Personally, I have zero desire to be a pain in Wayne's ass. Can we not just enjoy this for what it is?
