Right. For the range, go cheap.
Lighter bullets move faster of course, but heavier ones pack a wallop. In my experience hunting deer and elk, a 120 gr bullet is a bit wimpy. A 180 gr bullet will put the animal on his ass immediately.
I dunno about handguns, frankly.
