My uncle had a metalic blue coupe with a 324 Olds, Isky cam, & 6 97s on a log manifold. Pretty radical for 1958. I wuz in my "formative years"....13 or so. That thing was quick.....noisy, too, 13.08, 108 mph in the quarter....not that I remember the exact figures:-).
Jerry Grant drove it in the Seafair Sportscar (a Seattle thing)race that year.
The brakes were toast within 2 laps, the trans wuz gone in 10.......but he was first into the first turn
. Some puka Italian car won, as I recall.
This just shows that I come by my nutsoness honestly..it's in my jeans.
