Depending on your driving environment will have a lot to do with weather paint would last. Powder coat is definitly longer lasting. if you get the blade coated, you may need to cut the coating off the blade ends, I've heard of people that the fan scrapped with the think coating on the end. especially if you do the housing as well. Make sure it turns without scrapping anyting before final assemply.
