I saw that very thing happen just east of Lafayette back in the early 80's when the Tuscaloosa trend field came in around New Roads / Livonia. It became quite a little "boom town".
Mule, with the horizontal drilling, they are going in under many subdivisions around here. Even folks with small lots are getting a "chunk 'o the pie". Chesapaeke & PetroHawk are the major players, and they are really doing the sites right, doing the "beautification" and "safety steps" they learned in the Bradford Shale over around Ft. Worth.
