If you just count the oil that is produced in Louisiana and not what it produced in the gulf (which just happens to be sort of near Louisiana and is shipped to LA), California produces much more oil.
As soon as we hang all the bleeding heart tree-huggers who won't let us drill off our coast, california will far surpass Louisiana in oil production even counting what they pull out of the gulf.
