I'd also be interesting in seeing, for each of LA and CA, the total value, for, oh, lets say 2004:

(Mineral revenue sent to the feds) + (Federal income tax, personal and business, from residents of that state)

I bet THAT number will be even better than what sammyg2 just showed.
