Just skimming your thread.
You may want to change the flywheel position and speed sensors. You can access them both with the engine in. The sensor leads (wires) become brittle with age and heat. I had several problems due to a poor/lack of signal.
As for the red realy for the fuel pump, my 84 Carrera has both the red and the DME relays....
