What's the bare minimum I need for decent Youtube posting and do I need special software for it?

I'm gearing up to start putting some guitar playing on Youtube. I've been practicing more recently and have come across a lot of terrible, but highly-rated, versions of some classic guitar pieces. I want to throw my hat into that ring and see if I can't raise the bar a bit. Usually, I am truly humbled and awed by some of the stuff I dig up there. But I've seen some butchering and it's moved me to start putting my own stuff up there.
