I think the Barry ride still exist. I did it a few years back. This is the ride that will get your heart pumping. They start at Riverside by the studios and go through the park then up Chevy Chase and over to La Tuna and down to the other side and everyones kind of go home form there. Wed morning at abut 8:00am.
Do you live near the park? In the valley?

Sunday rides for me were just an informal seven to ten laps around the flat parts of Griffith Park - no hills. We'd start at the pony rides and cycle to Barham Blvd for a full lap. Put in about 50 miles, though I was never sure.
I've never done Rose Bowl, believe it or not, nor Montrose or La Tuna. I lived on the Westside during my racing days, and ended up training a lot in the Santa Monica Mountains out to Ventura. Deer Creek is probably the most perilous descent around. I think I've hit about 60 mph down that.
How long have I been riding? Road bikes - Shoot, about 25 yrs.
I live about 6 miles from Griffith Park, so it's an easy jaunt out there for some crank work.
