Pretty simple, Cairns. Virtually anyone can explain it to you. News professionals gather, and pass on.......INFORMATION. Colleges are places where certain people (call them "students") go to learn stuff. The people they learn this stuff from are called "professors."

I'd agree, Len. News reporters are, indeed, notoriously liberal. Writers too. As you may recall, I have a strong suspicion that liberalism is also positively correlated with education level and intellectual activity, but have not found legitimate research around this theory. Seattle is known to be one of the most educated of metropolitan areas and I think you guys know what our politics look like here.

I digress. Yes, reporters are liberal and so are writers and they construct stories. Media owners do not write the stories. Hundreds are written each day (that'd be a lot of writing for one billionaire) and owners are busy banging their personal assistants. Murdock is, of course, a different "story."
