Sorry for the delay in responding.
The problems I had with the Position and Speed Sensors were related to the DME. I had the fuel pump run with the key in the on position but no engine rotation. This leads to some serious fuel flooding. I also had idle surging but that was related to the DME itself, I believe.
Anyway, there have been posts here about using the BMW Position and Speed sensors in place of the more expensive Porsche part number. I purchased the Porsche part from Pelican as I didn't want to take the chance that the BMW sensors would not work properly.
