I've never done Rose Bowl, believe it or not, nor Montrose or La Tuna. I lived on the Westside during my racing days, and ended up training a lot in the Santa Monica Mountains out to Ventura. Deer Creek is probably the most perilous descent around. I think I've hit about 60 mph down that.
How long have I been riding? Road bikes - Shoot, about 25 yrs.
I live about 6 miles from Griffith Park, so it's an easy jaunt out there for some crank work.

We are about the same age. If you raced in the mid 80-mid 90s then we might have cross paths. There were only a bunch of us that race in the 80s, so you pretty much know who of all the hammer heads are. Did you ride for a club on the west side. I rode for La Grange for a year with a couple of those guys at Erines. Did the ride from MDR a good few times.
I started riding USCF races as a Junior at 16. was serious for about 20 years. Pretty much quit after that. Now I do about 20 miles of pizza a day.
