Well I had this conversation with Bob at Mode yesterday (I sourced my intercooler, headers and turbo from him - very high quality stuff). According to him, which I dont doubt, the long runners of my 993 manifold effectively tune the peak HP to no more than 6700rpm. So that really puts a big ceiling on how much HP I can get out of my 3.4L motor if it wont maintain torque past there.
Im still thinking a big BB turbo and bored throttle body (Im running a stock 1995 993 throttle body) might add a bit more hp - just as a factor of additional torque in my rev band, but I probably wont get past say 625 at the wheels at 1.25bar.
Anyone put up better that that using a 3.6 manifold on a 3.4 motor (at the same boost of course)? I know 625 should be plenty, but after seeing that Automotive Associates' 935 car pulling 750whp at that boost level I know I will soon be looking for more.
