996 Engine Oil Drains
Hi All,
I am from the 911 board and just got a call from a friend about changing the engine oil in his '98 996.
He said that he removed a bolt at the rear of the engine with a 17mm wrench and a spring and a metal doodad came out along with 2 quarts of oil. Later he figured that the drain plug proper was the plug that required an 8mm allen and having removed that plug about 6 quarts came out.
What is the first bolt that he removed????? He things it might be related to an oil pressure sender that he saw in the Pelican catalog.
