Can you look at the service records? Can you tell if its been painted(and if so why)?
Its not going to have had much done, except probably fluid changes, brakes, tires, some interior touch up. Invoices from the dealer should be around. Few shops had the Porsche CDs and manuals to work on 996. Have you lifted it up and looked under the car- were the pans flawless?
