Yes, Beachwood. Turned right off of Franklin, and took the long shallow climb up past the market, then left onto the first street. Hello 10% or more all the way up.
My mother-in-law used to live at the very top. The Hollywood Sign was more-or-less her front yard. A horrible area to live for obvious tourist-type reasons.
After that, I went down the long shallow downhill, then, right at Madonna's old house, boom: it's a vertical drop before the 1/2-mile plateau, then another drop to the Hollywood Reservoir. Going around the Reservoir, you can really cook to about 25 mph, but the corners are really funky with cracked asphalt, etc. Still, you're catching cars that can't drive as fast as a cyclist rides.
Then comes the next climb - it doesn't stop. It's a tongue dragger all the way up to the descent to Barham Blvd.
I loved it!
