FWIW, I have pulled transmissions, exhausts and clutches on my watercooled p-cars without any issues what-so-ever with my BendPak scissor lift (looks to be identical to your new lift). My lift came with three sets of lift pads. I rarely use the tallest set, but coupled with the open area in the center of the lift and the gap at the front of the lift, I have yet to ever come across an area I could not easily work on ANY of my vehicles in my signature below.

The god d@mn f#CK!^@ Audi broke on us again last night and as you can see, even with the all wheel drive, twin exhausts etc, it is easily serviced on this lift.
