My daughter is turning 8 and has entered the early stages of a democracy.
My 5 yr old boy is currently living under a dictatorship.

I agree regarding children; my Daughter is almost 10 and is also starting to enjoy some new freedoms she has earned through responsibility.
So folks in unfree countries are essentially children who must earn freedom? This analogy might work.
