Dan, as you can see the return hole is still there (good eye Craig!). So this case will need the bypass mod.
That said, you should have this case inspected FIRST before performing any machine work, it's entirely possible that it is unusable due to the advanced state of corrosion visible. I would have it checked by a competent machine shop before starting work.
