Fads come and fads go. This one IMO has been around a bit too long, but so have many others.
Ripped jeans are still here, so are the dirty grungy jeans (not from work BTW, they are that when in the store). While I'm on the subject, someone sent me an add from J Crew I think for a pair of jeans that are covered on paint splatter and they cost well over $100. I have several that looks just like that, but I spilled the paint and wiped my paint cover hands on them myself.
Crocs will evolve into something else I'm sure. I agree with others that they are better than flop flops and sandals when covering up gross looking feet. Maybe if they were in more subtle colors they wouldn't be so bad?
