Robert, was he shooting a single stage or a duplex paint?
If it was a single stage, you might be able to have it wet sanded, compounded and then buffed out, to bring out the shine. If it is a duplex paint, is the defect in the base coat or the top coat? If it is in the base coat, you are pretty much screwed, and will have to get the door repainted. If it is in the clear top coat, it can be wet sanded, compounded and buffed out to bring out the shine, hopefully, to match the rest of the car.

Quit pointing it out to people. If they don't mention it, don't worry about it too much. I know, it is just you knowing that it is not exactly right, why you feel this way. Good luck!! Tony.
