I went ahead and installed the right bank of heads and cam tower yesterday. Installation went well, but required quite a bit of time to clean and stage all parts in preparation of actual assembly....final check was made with cam inserted and it rotates smoothly...
...however, I noticed one lobe on each cam has some pitting and will have to be sent out for repair...
I was planning to reinstall the SC cams as is to keep costs down, but now that they have to be sent out anyway, I guess I'll go with a different grind (964?). What's the best choice to work with 9.3:1 CIS pistons, 40mm webers & SSIs? Looking for best low and mid range combination for street use, not high RPM power. Thx
