Went to a get-together of folks who run their cars on veggie oil. Quite an interesting mix... from old-school hippies to hardened survivalist types.
Neat cars too. Some slick conversions, some hack-jobs.
Early 90's BMW diesel wagon, imported from Germany. Very slick conversion, wish I had pics.
2002 Jetta TDi. This one was bad. Fuel switching valve was not working, guy had fiddled with it (see jumper wires) and decided to just leave it on veggie all the time, cold starts and everything. Pistons rings seized, it would barly start. Notice the $2 disposable filters that replace the stock filters.
60's Unimog. This thing gets a ton of use. Really cool old truck. I didn't realize that the old MB diesel truck engines were direct-injection
