FWIW, I've used U-ship.com a time or two. Easy to get bids and there are a few companies who specialize in motorcycle shipping. The extra stuff that comes with I could use UPS.
The PO had just the LR tank. I found a NOS tank at a local BMW dealer and did all the work to clean out any rust and recoat. Then found the right chrome panels (in great shape), had it painted the correct color and it matches perfectly. All other paint is original. Both tanks have gas cap and petcocks so can be changed in about 15 min.
I do, however, put some leaded gas in it (a cup or two) every so often to keep the valves happy. Valves can be changed out to newer if you want...never did.
Love to have it go to a Pelican cuz I know we/they take good care of these toys.
